Truck and Large Equipment Booths

Col-Met has enhanced the overall design and structure of our larger-size spray booths for vehicle, large equipment, and other high-capacity industrial finishing applications. In addition to using structural-steel vertical members every 10 feet of length, we also span between the members with 14-gauge horizontal stiffening panels for the entire length of the booth. The booth support structural steel is powder coated with our standard TGIC polyester white for a professional “Fit and Finish” look that Col-Met customers have come to expect.

Standard features that strengthen booth integrity:

  • Industry-leading, W6x9 steel vertical members allow the booth to accept standard manlifts without upgrades or upcharges.
  • Structurally-sound steel helps eliminate the “oil canning” effect.
  • Bright, full booth illumination is provided by UL listed, four-tube, 32-watt, fluorescent light fixtures.
  • “Anywhere placement” of personnel doors and light fixtures.
  • 5/16" bolts versus industry-standard 1/4" bolts for tighter, more secure bolting.
  • Powder-coated structural steel members.
  • Optional powder coating available.
  • Booth design offers a substantial savings during installation - taking up to 25% less time to complete the job.

Parts enter the booth through the conveyor openings, then pass the coating operator stations to receive the coating. The powder overspray is entrained within the air stream moving to the collector module, where the cartridge filters will remove the particulate. The containment air is drawn through the air handler’s primary and final filter system before being discharged back into the room. Coated parts exit the booth for conveyance to the cure oven.

EZ Pass-Thru Booths: Powder Coating, Industrial Finishing, and Wood Finishing.

NOTE: Lexan™ roof panels may be substituted for the light fixtures.

     PURGE CONTROL

This feature assures the safe operation of the coatings enclosure, by maintaining the airflow at design levels. During operation overspray powder accumulates on the cartridge filters. The term for this is “loading”; as the cartridge filters “load”, airflow decreases and suction pressure rises within the air handler. A timer activates a system of air purging valves that clear the cartridge filters of accumulated powder as needed.

    Waterborne Systems

    Tower

At Col-Met Spray Booths, we are engineers, we are craftsmen, and we are innovators. Every day we challenge ourselves to think beyond the walls of our booths... developing new ways to enhance your overall finishing experience.

This time we took on the challenge to think within the walls of our spray booths, to find the best methods for addressing waterborne finishing and then to develop a family of products that would evolve the flash-off process.

    • Power Pod technology available in corner-mounted systems.
    • Seven Venturi nozzles create turbulence to disrupt laminar airflow during flash-off.
    • 1200 FPM at each nozzle creates the maximum laminar disruption
    • Optional front or rear zone control maximizes both economies and efficiencies
    • Powerful Two HP environmentally friendly motor and fan assembly creates efficient airflow at the lowest posssible cost
    • No compressed air is required by any of Col-Met's waterborne flash-off systems.
    • Power Pod systems come with their own control panel so when retrofitting there is no need to wire into your spray booth's controls, voiding the manufacturer's warranty

    Power Pod-4 Waterborne Flash-Off System

Pods InsideThis is our 4-tower system that covers each corner of a standard-size booth. But the number of towers can be multiplied based on the total length of your spray booth.

    • Two or four air towers can be set from the control panel to operate simultaneously or independently, depending on the actual size and/or location of the object(s) being painted or finished.
    • A countdown timer allows the painter control over the operating cycle duration and auto-shutdown.
    • A pneumatically-controlled remote starter, which is mounted inside the spray booth, allows painter to activate the system without having to leave the clean spray environment.
    • Entire system runs on a 2 HP 3 Phase motor for maximum efficiency.
    • A retrofit waterborne flash-off solution for any existing Col-Met or competitors' spray booth.
    • Power Pods can be installed in your finishing booth in a single day... and then it's time to get spraying!

We have the knowledge. We have the capabilities. We have the team ready to go to work. And we are utilizing these attributes to build better systems for you.

    ATR Booths (Truck/Auto)

Col-Met Spray Booths provides you with a superior overall design and high-integrity structure in our complete line of ATR spray booths for truck, large equipment and other high-capacity finishing applications. Col-Met ATR Truck and Large Equipment Booths can be designed and configured to fit your specific application needs. We have the capability to build custom systems for finishing trucks, construction equipment, recreational vehicles, and other larger equipment efficiently and economically.

    Truck and Large Equipment Booth

    • Industry-leading, W6x9 and 10Ga steel vertical members placed every 10' of length allow the booth to accept standard manlifts without upgrades or upcharges.
    • Bright, full-booth illumination is provided by standard UL or ETL Listed, four-tube, 32-watt, fluorescent light fixtures.
    • No more "oil canning" effect with our use of more structurally sound steel. Improper handling, installation, or attachment to misaligned steel supports can cause "oil canning."
    • "Anywhere placement" of personnel doors and light fixtures. Our 14Ga horizontal stiffeners running the entire length of our booth allow for specific placements of doors and lights to fit your particular application.
    • 5/16" bolts versus industry-standard 1/4" bolts for tighter, more secure bolting. Our nut and bolt construction provides consistent structural stability and makes for simpler installation and reinstallation, if necessary.
    • Standard doors have adjustable slotted-hole hinges, not weld-on ones, making it much easier to position and install the booth doors.
    • Booth design offers a substantial savings during installation—taking up to 25% less time to complete the job.

    ATR Booth LightsUpgrade Lights (Optional)
Col-Met exclusive high-efficiency light fixtures provide full-booth illumination with ETL Listed, four-tube, 48" long, 32-watt fluorescent lights. Inside or outside access light fixtures available.

The FG Elite Series includes many booth upgrades – all offered as standard features.

The Elite Series from Col-Met utilizes the benefits from two different styles of booth construction and combines them together into one unique product line – a hybrid concept of pairing a single-wall booth cabin with a double-wall front design. The Elite Series offers the same standard features and the same installation, operation and maintenance advantages as our popular EZ Series, but now in a finer grade (FG) of booth construction.

      Oven Panels

Oven PanelsCONSTRUCTION FEATURES AND QUALITY DETAILS

      • Tongue and groove construction.
      • 4” thick panels constructed of 20-gauge prime aluminized steel inside and out. Both panel surfaces are roll-formed for uniformity.
      • 2", 3", 6", and 8" thick panels are also available.
      • Stiffener panels comprising the top, bottom and sidewalls of the panels are factory-punched to reduce the through metal, thereby reducing heat transmission to the exterior surface of the panels.
      • Col-Met utilizes a “Knuckle” punch for attachment of the top and bottom connecting panels and a “Button” punch along the tongue and groove surfaces, instead of spot welds which are known to breakdown the panel integrity. This assembly process provides superior strength while protecting the cosmetic appearance of the panels.
      • Where possible, standard 27-1/2" panels are used – providing a net width of 26". (36" width optional)
      • Standard 4 lb. density semi-rigid/resilient mineral wool insulation sandwiched between surfaces. (6 and 8 lb. density optional)
